Antique shop Hollypot has been named after the iconic Australian band’s singer and guitarist, who died in 2017.
Antique shop Sweet Shop will be renamed Hollypot after the Melbourne-based chain which opened its doors in the late ’90s and now operates three branches.
The Hollypot branch in Melbourne’s west has received the name for a year and a half, with the other branches now also named for its founder, Sydney musician and bandmate Paulie Hobson.
Hollypots owner Steve Ritchie said he was thrilled to be able to name his store after the band’s iconic guitarist and vocalist.
“Holly has a lot of history in our community, but it’s really nice to have something that represents that and the people that made it,” he said.
“The Hollypots store has a great history, so I’m really excited to get that name out there.”
It’s going to be a lot more fun to be at Hollypot in 2018 and 2019.

Ritchie said the Holly Pot shop in the West End of Melbourne had been a popular hangout for the band for many years.”
I think for the Hollypot people, it’s very much a part of their history and they’re very loyal to us,” he told news.com.au.”
They know it’s going in and out of the Hollypots, they know what it is, they’re going to buy it, they’ve seen the videos and they know it has the Holly pot on it.””
It has an old-fashioned look to it, it has a very Victorian feel to it and it’s the right fit for Hollypot.
“He said it was important to make the store feel like it was in the heart of Melbourne.”
We want to be the place that they would come to when they came to Melbourne,” he explained.”
That’s where we wanted it to be and we wanted to make it as accessible as possible to everyone.
“Holly Pot is a chain of Australian restaurants and boutique shops, which opened in Melbourne in 2005 and has since expanded into the US.
Rickey said Hollypots Melbourne branch had been sold to an independent restaurant in Adelaide and would continue to operate there.
